I am a sysadmin by default on mkcrosoft closed lab network. My next step has been to install Office volume licensing server. I got it activated successfully over the phone and completed the volume licensing setup and also allowed volume licensing through the firewall. I check the AD, and saw the Office AO there; if I go back into the Office volume activation tool and proceed through the steps, after selecting AD activation, I get the option to 'Skip to Configuration' and the Office product is listed as an option to delete.
Completing the verification steps, I went into Event Viewer and also ran the slmgr command. There were events related to the Office activation, but not the specific code that showed successful activation and slmgr displayed Office as 'Not Licensed'. After a whole day of troubleshooting and trying to manually try different things from other help sites, I'm stumped as to why the Office volume activation tool shows it successfully installed the AO object existing, but the other verification steps show the complete opposite?
I have not found any support articles anywhere else that document this specific issue. At this point, my main assumption is, after reading more about AD activation, since it only is apparently for Win8 microsoft word 2013 activator kms free Win Server clients and assumedly Win10it is a fairly new activation option.
The TechNet instructions don't specifically walk through the Office volume activation steps other than how to do the activationand I'm thinking they assume people are either 1 choosing KMS or 2 if doing the AD option, are already running KMS. Thanks for your feedback. Using a couple of Win8 VMs, I was able to get microsoft word 2013 activator kms free the 5 minimum activation limit and micrlsoft activation works on my Office installs. A little quirky that choosing only AD activation does not provide a way to query the licensing information, but I guess there's some AO object that can be queried and if going AD-only, KMS is likely to be free abbyy finereader 12 professional edition free Not important to me, but something for anyone to think about that is forgoing KMS installation for Office and possibly Windows and going full AD.
